10 MTV Inspired Crazy Tattoos

Because tattoos are a lifelong commitment, it's best to get ink of something you love, whether that's your girl's name, Tony Danza's face or an homage to your favorite TV network. Let's say MTV is your favorite TV network, which it obviously is. Well, there are more ways than you can possibly think of to honor it in tattoo form.
We've rounded up 10 for you, from a quirky girl with a Daria tat to the holiest of all grails, the dual Beavis and Butthead tattoo. Take a gander at some of the finest body art MTV has ever inspired below and then start thinking about which body part you'd like to become the permanent home of Jesse Camp's face.

1. Beavis and Butthead Feet
It's not talked about a lot, but it is in fact true: Beavis and Butthead were the most important music critics of the 90s. Their withering contempt was something to behold (on indie-rock gods Pavement: "They're too lazy to rock and too lazy to clean the tub." "These guys are so lazy they probably take a dump in the tub") but it was their sheer joy brought out by heavy metal that we miss the most.

2. Beavis and Butthead Bros
Despite their occasionally dysfunctional relationship, it's important to remember that the boys were best friends. Psychologists have discovered that in the male-dyad friendship, one friend functions as the Beavis, the other as the Butthead. It's probably best to clearly define who is who, preferably with tattoos. This way, you'll know exactly which role to play when you're hanging out with other dudes in your underwear.

3. Beavis and Butthead Headbanging
There's something to be said for the classics: the headbanging, air guitar-playing, devil sign-throwing Beavis and Butthead. While on the show, Beavis was usually wearing a Metallica shirt and Butthead an AC/DC one, so we're just going to assume that this guy prefers Sabbath and Maiden. We don't think the guys would mind.

4. Beavis and Butthead Mooning
Along with metal, Beavis and Butthead loved their classic teenage pranks. Take, for example, mooning. What better way is there to show absolute contempt than showing someone your ass? And what better way to show your appreciation of the art of mooning than a tattoo of it on your chest? And it's on a girl! B&B would appreciate that. Heh heh. Heh.

5. Beavis and Butthead Mooning Again
Maybe there is one way to improve a Beavis and Butthead mooning tattoo, and that's to get the image on one's ass. This way, mooning begets mooning; creating a continuously smaller moon to be unpacked, like Russian dolls. Way to go, guy!

6. The MTV Logo
Riff Raff, of MTV's "From G's to Gents," showed a lot more network love than most by getting the iconic MTV logo tattooed on his neck. It wasn't enough for him to win the show (he will, forever, remain a G and not a Gent), but it did win our undying admiration.

7. Yo! MTV Raps Logo
One of the first major national hip-hop shows, "Yo! MTV Raps" converted a generation. Doctor Dre (not that one) and Ed Lover spread the word around the world, and now this fine gentlemen is helping carry on their legacy.

8. Steve-O on Steve-O
The dudes on "Jackass" pulled a lot of idiotic/brilliant stunts in their day, some successful, some a pain in the balls, some both. And as any fan knows, much of the most cringe-inducing stunts were performed by Steve-O, a legend when it comes to hurting oneself for the amusement of others. So honoring Mr. O with a portrait on one's back seems completely appropriate. The fact that it's Steve-O himself who sports this tattoo only makes it better.

9. Sifl and Olly's Friend Chester
Chester, sidekick and announcer of Liam Lynch's short-lived cult classic "The Sifl and Olly Show," is an impressive tat. It's obscure, but anyone who knows the brilliance of the show will be impressed. Plus, Chester got all the ladies, and so this guy will too.

10. Daria and Jane
Daria, the sarcastic Debbie Downer of her day, acted as a voice for every girl (and boy!) who was too smart not to know how stupid everyone else was. A tattoo of the booted Miss Morgendorffer and her BFF Jane Lane shows that this person hasn't forgotten the days of teenage torture.

I just googled "sifl & olly tattoo" to see if I was the only one and whaddaya know. It was done 01/2008 in Elgin, IL at Top Notch Tattoo. I brought in a t-shirt a friend gave me of Chester's face and a button with the same image on it for color accuracy.

I emailed a picture of it to Liam Lynch himself and he said it was an amazing tattoo and pointed out that I'll have to answer "what the hell is that?" for the rest of my life. I mostly hear that he looks like a cheeseburger.

btw, chester most definitely gets all of the ladies, of which i am one. if i ever get another tattoo, it will be s&o on the opposite leg. thanks for the props, oddyfunny!

I have Beavis and Butt-Head on my feet too. I absolutely love them, no regrets, just excessive pain.
